Douglas has writing, directing, acting, producing, acting, editing, voicing, locations, transport, runner, and cinematography credits in nearly 50 screen productions including independent short films, feature films, advertising commercials, TV series, e-learning series, and short documentaries. Kōkako

While Ashley searches the New Zealand wilderness for a bird presumed extinct, some uncomfortable family history disrupts her isolation.

Kōkako was selected for the 2023 Ngā Whanaunga Māori Pasifika Shorts programme at the New Zealand International Film Festival, where it won a Special Mention award - Director.

It has so far also screened in Ottawa as part of the annual indigenous Asinabka Film & Media Arts Festival.

It stars Phoenix Cross, Kim Garrett, Lawrence Wharerau, and Katrina Toia.

Maryam

Short, 2021

Co-director with Maza White

When an Iranian mother is confronted with a horrific crime committed against her daughter, she must face her past in order to save her child.

Maryam, written by multi-lingual Iranian writer, director and actor Maza White, won Best Drama at the Top Shorts Film Festival and also screened on the Rialto Channel.

It stars White in the title role, with Roxie Mohebbi, Marjan Nelson, and Jennifer Ward-Lealand.

The Meek

Short, 2020

In a world where a deadly virus is wiping out humanity, a 12-year-old girl with Down syndrome is left in the care of her survivalist uncle.

Directed by Gillian Ashurst, The Meek was selected for the New Zealand International Film Festival. It received funding from the New Zealand Film Commission.

It stars Izzy Ashhurst, Paul Glover, and Tandi Wright.

Blue Moon

A failing businessman hatches a plot to solve his financial woes when a criminal who is holding a large amount of cash dies in his gas station bathroom. He finds himself in trouble when a gang enforcer arrives at the store.

Directed by Stefen Harris, Blue Moon was shot entirely on an iPhone. It was selected for the New Zealand International Film Festival and won Best Low Budget Feature at the 2019 Houston International Film Festival, Best Foreign Film at the 2019 Long Island Film Festival, and Best Feature Film at Cinephone - Festival Internacional de Cine con Smartphone.

It stars Mark Hadlow, Jed Brophy, Liz Mullane, and Douglas Brooks.
